This is a 15-minute slow-moving dark ride taking us through the evolution of communication, narrated by Dame Judi Dench. Personally, we love this ride.
Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival
Three short animated films in 3-D with exhibits in the lobby showing the creative process behind these stories and characters. If you want to spend 18 minutes looking at cartoons, do it; otherwise, head back to the World Showcase.
Journey Into Imagination with Figment
This is another ride geared towards small children. A slow dark ride through imagination. Usually a short wait.
World Discovery
Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Rewind
The single most amazing roller coaster ever created. If you can handle a wild coaster with a little bit of virtual ride media and love the song “September,” then you simply MUST do this!
JAMMitors
They are awesome! No joke, professional percussionists playing on garbage cans. It’s like STOMP, but better-themed. If you happen to catch a show, you’ll leave happy.
Mission Space Green and Orange
This is a virtual ride that has two levels of intensity. We don’t recommend this for any of us. Just walk away.
Test Track
You “build” a car and then go really fast on a very short track outside. Usually a long wait. But if you’ve ever driven more than 60 MPH on the highway, you can totally skip this…
World Nature
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana
Full disclosure, this is brand new, so this will be new to us. That said, we wanted some context, so we recently watched the film and LOVED it. Strongly recommend you watch it, too!
Awesome Planet
What Disney says about this: “Immerse yourself in a stunning, 10-minute film featuring spectacular imagery from across the globe.” What we say about this: “This film will make you feel real bad about all the plastic you’re using.”
Soarin’
This is a simulated hang-glider ride in front of a large video screen. Leslie can’t do virtual rides but this one is fine for her – no issues at all. One of our favorite rides. Period.
Living With the Land
Slow, educational (what Disney calls “Edutainment”) boat ride explaining agriculture. Good while waiting for your Soarin’ Lightning Lane to be available. This is a lovely attraction, really.
The Seas with Nemo and Friends
Similar to The Little Mermaid, this is a short ride for littles. Often a short wait time. In a pavilion with a giant aquarium.
SeaBase
At 5.7 million gallons, this is the second-largest aquarium in the US and the sixth largest in the world.
World Showcase
Luminous
Epcot’s new nighttime spectacular. We have not yet seen it, but all of the Disney influencers that we trust love it.
Gran Fiesta Tour
This dark boat ride is like a shorter “it’s a small world,” if the world was just Mexico. It is adorable, really, especially of you like Donald Duck. It’s a good way to spend a few minutes off your feet before waiting in the long line for a margarita at Cava del Tequila…
Mariachi Cobre
This is the mariachi band that plays outside and around the Mexico Pavilion. And they are REALLY good. The real deal. They perform every 45 minutes from 11:00 AM to 4:15 PM.
Frozen Ever After
Replaced the iconic but rather dated “Maelstrom.” Based on the animated film of the same name. Usually a ridiculously long wait time.
Reflections of China
This is a 360° Circle-Vision film that is dated but really well done. However it’s 14 minutes long and you have to stand. We love it. When we’re not tired. Available all day, times not specified.
Germany Gazebo
Germany Gazebo — If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a bunch of people in lederhosen playing rock music. Grab a Beck’s and enjoy! JUST KIDDING. Beck’s sucks.
Sergio
One of two mimes in the World Showcase. Consider this fact when you start in on your second margarita.
The American Adventure
This is a 32-minute sit-down attraction that features audio animatronics of Mark Twain and Ben Franklin. Who were apparently buds even though Ben died 45 years before Samuel Clemmons was born. We have done this once…and that was more than enough.
Voices of Liberty
This is where the best kid in the show choir lands after college. They used to wear 18th century period costumes, but all the heat-related fainting put an end to that. Seriously, though, these folks are good.
Matsuriza Taiko Drummers
Just that. Can be heard all over World Showcase. If you’re passing the Japan Pavilion when they’re drumming, stop for a bit.
Mitsukoshi Department Store
Mitsukoshi was Japan’s first department store, founded in 1673. Just walk through this fab store even if you don’t buy anything!
Beauty and the Beast Sing-a-Long
Unless you’re desperate for air conditioning, don’t do it.
Impressions de France
This is an 18-minute sit-down film that is…an impression of France. Beautiful music, lovely cinematography because, the French. We do this often. Leslie even fell asleep once because it’s soothing and cool.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Follow Remy the rat as he scurries around the restaurant. This is a combo of 3D virtual and practical sets on a trackless ride system. It is adorable and fun. Leslie cannot do virtual rides but can do this by closing her eyes in certain scenes.
Canada Far and Wide
What Disney says about: “A breathtaking look at the Great White North.” Hosted by Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy, you walk into this expecting them to be funny. Criminally, they’re not. But the film is beautiful. 12 minutes of Circle-Vision while standing. C’mon Canada, give us a chair.
Canada Mill Stage
If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a bunch of lumberjacks playing rock music. Grab a Molson and enjoy! JUST KIDDING. Molson sucks.
